ASACP Ready for Adult Webcam Conference in Las Vegas

LOS ANGELES — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) announced that it will be participating in the upcoming Adult Webcam Conference set for Jan. 20  at the Alexis Park Resort Hotel in Las Vegas.

According to its promoters, the Conference offers professional development courses for live webcam models as well as insightful speakers, dozens of exhibitors, and panels for current and potential models, affiliates, studios and more.

A consumer component allows fans to meet their favorite performers, while the First Annual Adult Webcam Awards Show & Dinner Gala highlights the event.

Organizer Ron Lee explained that it is up to those in the adult business and who profit from adult content to accept responsibility for helping to keep this material out of the reach of children. “Our decision to do what we could to support ASACP was easy,” Lee said. “We are in the adult content business.”

He added, “The Adult Webcam Conference takes the position that it’s very important to do whatever we can to keep this issue front and center in the live cams space. We think it is important that the work that the ASACP does be supported by those who are in or may be considering entering this or any other adult entertainment business.”

ASACP’s executive director, Tim Henning, will represent the association and will participate in the event’s legal session on Jan. 20, from 11-11:50 a.m., where he will offer advice on how cam companies can protect their business by protecting children, and discuss the legal pitfalls and current international regulatory challenges that face the cam industry with respect to online child protection efforts.

“Reaching out to the fast-growing webcam community provides ASACP with a new channel for presenting its message to both consumers and producers of live online adult entertainment, providing an unparalleled chance to make a difference in online child safety,” Henning said. “As our newest Corporate Sponsor, Adult Webcam Conference represents the industry’s next frontier and is the gateway to carrying our message to an even broader audience.”

Demonstrating its commitment to ASACP and child protection, Adult Webcam Conference is donating a percentage of its ticket sales to the association as well as collecting donations from attendees at the door. In addition, the event’s promoters are helping to underwrite Henning’s attendance through complimentary event admission and hotel accommodations in Las Vegas.

“We appreciate Adult Webcam Conference’s generosity and hope that other event promoters will likewise support the association,” Henning said. “While adding $5 to the ticket price for ASACP won’t make any difference to attendees, it would make an enormous difference to the association and its ability to carry on its vital mission.”
